1. About thecommon

The Common (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a social connection service designed to introduce individuals into small, curated group chats based on shared preferences and compatibility signals.

Our role is to facilitate introductions, not to manage, moderate, or oversee ongoing personal interactions.

2. Eligibility

By using thecommon, you confirm that:

  • You are aged 18 or over

  • The information you provide is accurate and truthful

  • You are participating voluntarily and at your own discretion

3. Nature of the Service

thecommon provides a personal, social introduction service.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • You may be introduced to individuals you do not know

  • Group chats and any subsequent interactions are peer-to-peer

  • Participation in conversations, meet-ups, or ongoing communication is entirely optional

Once introduced, individuals interact within their own agency.

4. Responsibility & Personal Agency

By using this service, you understand and agree that:

  • All interactions — online or in person — are undertaken at your own discretion and responsibility

  • You are responsible for your own boundaries, decisions, and wellbeing

  • You are free to leave any group chat or disengage at any time

    thecommon does not:

  • Supervise conversations

  • Moderate private group chats on an ongoing basis

  • Act as a mediator between participants

  • Verify identities beyond the information provided at signup

5. Safety & Liability Disclaimer

While we take care in how groups are formed, thecommon cannot and does not guarantee the emotional or physical safety of participants during:

  • Online conversations

  • Group chats

  • In-person meet-ups

  • Any communication that occurs after introductions are made

By using the service, you agree that:

  • thecommon is not responsible for the conduct, behaviour, or actions of other participants

  • Any meetings or interactions arranged between users occur independently of thecommon

You are encouraged to:

  • Exercise personal judgment

  • Meet in public spaces

  • Share plans with trusted contacts

  • Prioritise your own comfort and safety

6. Community Expectations

We expect all participants to:

  • Treat others with respect

  • Communicate considerately

  • Avoid harassment, discrimination, or harmful behaviour

We reserve the right to remove individuals from the service if we become aware of conduct that undermines the safety or integrity of the community.

7. Payments & Access

Where applicable:

  • Payments grant access to the service described at the time of purchase

  • Fees are non-refundable once introductions have been made, unless otherwise stated

We collect and process personal data solely for the purpose of delivering this service.
